DISASTER RECOVERY UPDATE

OUTAGE RESOLVED

73h 43m downtime has been resolved after diagnosing the following symptoms found on the OmniDyne Cincinnati Site Server [NODE 3b UNIX]:

  • CRON Disaster Recovery did not properly fire, failsafe mode did not trip at 00:30 due to a misprint in the script. This misprint has since been fixed.
  • Power Failure to Processor. A more robust power delivery has been established.
  • Network Failover did not trigger due to previous two issues. This was due to a new network configuration being introduced but not hardwired in Cron. Secondary Network Failover has been introduced.

Further issues brought forth when entering DR at the Cincinnati Site:

  • Waste has not been properly disposed in several months. Introducing additional remediation efforts to staff to provide incentive.
  • Neural Dial-Up Link seems to be producing anomalies in code since entering DR. Rolling back to non-DR state did not reverse these anomalies. Unsure of affects going forward, no backups of previous codes exist, and current code is load bearing as-is.

Images of current workstation state are attached below. You may notice electrical output has been cut upon vacating the premises.

June-July 2023 Tour

We were cooking in 2023. We did it right and booked back-to-back runs in the Midwest/East Coast as soon as the Self-Titled album was out and played some of the coolest venues in our entire life. Pittsburgh and Brooklyn particularly were unreal, shoutout the Mr. Roboto Project in PGH for being the most DIY-forward venue in the Midwest. June/July was short, but meaningful;

  • Pittsburgh
  • Washington, DC
  • Brooklyn
  • Philadelphia

Brooklyn was a dream come true. We ran the door ourselves to save a few dollars, played in a sweaty bar basement on a Saturday night and talked to people who felt like real kindred souls, and played along 3 bands that felt like a lineup made for a utopia I want to be a part of [Career Day, Star Funeral and Dweller.]

This was the first run where we actually had time to kill; we actually had enough money from PGH [again, shoutout to Mr. Roboto Project] to get a hotel and work on a few songs. In DC we were able to stop in at massive thrift store and waste time looking at abandoned records. We got to experience the joys of driving through Delaware [which we would later do again several times when recording in NJ] and got to recklessly walk around Queens with open containers and not a care in the world.

Cities are magical places; you can quite literally feel the energy and the citizens feed off of it. We get so much power from being around other's proximity, it forces socialization, it forces you to humanize your fellow human. You see them every day, you can't lack empathy or forget the power you have on others when you're surrounded by people. This is an inherently good thing, we should all strive to be around people more. At the end of the day we're all we have.

The Last Scarlet Street Show (of 2025)

November of 2025 was very bittersweet. NO ALTERNATIVE had just been released and we felt that things were going well, but we also had just been told that Rob was parting ways with Scarlet Street.

Did you know that you generally have to book tours 6-8 months in advanced? We knew for a while that NO ALTERNATIVE would be out by October, but it became clear during the summer (when Scarlet Street would have been booking a tour) we wouldn’t be able to commit to a tour due to personal health reasons. Huge opportunity missed. Rob leaving was the last bit of wind out of our sails.

We still managed to put on some great local shows around then, culminating in one of the best shows we’ve ever played at the Yellow Cab Tavern in Dayton, OH.

Yellow Cab announced earlier this year that they’re closing permanently, yet another blow in a long series. Nothing lasts forever.

2024-10-19 // SCARLET STREET // LIVE from THE FRAMESHOP

2024 was one of Scarlet Street's least active years and we weren't afforded a whole lot of opportunity to play shows locally, so we began getting creative with where shows were hosted. A good friend reached out and asked SS to play an art gallery in October which was the exact vibe we were seeking: 5th floor of a partially abandoned warehouse, overlooking the city. A crude PA system and a handheld camera were all it needed, and we played a show completely for the fun of it.
