June-July 2023 Tour

We were cooking in 2023. We did it right and booked back-to-back runs in the Midwest/East Coast as soon as the Self-Titled album was out and played some of the coolest venues in our entire life. Pittsburgh and Brooklyn particularly were unreal, shoutout the Mr. Roboto Project in PGH for being the most DIY-forward venue in the Midwest. June/July was short, but meaningful;

• Washington, DC
• Brooklyn
• Philadelphia

Brooklyn was a dream come true. We ran the door ourselves to save a few dollars, played in a sweaty bar basement on a Saturday night and talked to people who felt like real kindred souls, and played along 3 bands that felt like a lineup made for a utopia I want to be a part of [Career Day, Star Funeral and Dweller.]

This was the first run where we actually had time to kill; we actually had enough money from PGH [again, shoutout to Mr. Roboto Project] to get a hotel and work on a few songs. In DC we were able to stop in at massive thrift store and waste time looking at abandoned records. We got to experience the joys of driving through Delaware [which we would later do again several times when recording in NJ] and got to recklessly walk around Queens with open containers and not a care in the world.

Cities are magical places; you can quite literally feel the energy and the citizens feed off of it. We get so much power from being around other's proximity, it forces socialization, it forces you to humanize your fellow human. You see them every day, you can't lack empathy or forget the power you have on others when you're surrounded by people. This is an inherently good thing, we should all strive to be around people more. At the end of the day we're all we have.
